Day Wise Itinerary


Day 01: Arrival in Bagdogra and drive to Phuentsholing (180 km/ 03 hour drive approximately)
The drives to Phuntsholing will pass through Indian state of Siliguri, Hasimara, and Birpara and into border town of Jaigoan before entering into Bhutan main gate. On arrival in Phuentsholing, check into the hotel and proceed for entry permit/visa formality.
Overnight stay in Phuentsholing
Day 2: Phuntsholing to Thimphu (182 km/ 06 hour drive approximately)
After the breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Thimpu .On the way Visit the amazing sightseeing’s:
Zangtog Pelri Lhakhang - Situated in city centre, this small temple represents the heaven of Guru Rinpoche ground floor there are statues of eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche and paintings on Buddha's life while the next floor contains eight Bodhisattavas and statues of Avalokiteshvara and Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.
Kharbandi Gompa - Founded in 1967 by Royal Grand Mother, Ashi Phuntsho Choedron and situated at the altitude of 400m, this beautiful monastery contains paintings on the life of Buddha, statues of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and Guru Rinpoche. From the monastery garden there is a fascinating view of Phuentsholing town and surrounding plains.
On arrival in Thimpu, check in the hotel, after some rest, yet sightseeing’s awaits for you. The drive is very scenic once we climb up from the Indian plain to Bhutan foot hills through beautiful forest, towns and road side villages.
Gedu - It is located in Chukha District. It also is the place for one of the colleges of Royal University of Bhutan; called as Gaeddu College of Business Studies.
Chukha - Chukha District is one of the 20 dzongkhag comprising Bhutan. The major town is Phuentsholing which is the gateway city along the sole road which connects India to western Bhutan. Chukha is the commercial and the financial capital of Bhutan

Day 03: Thimphu sightseeing
After the Lovely breakfast, visit the weekend market, Handmade paper Mill, School of Arts and crafts where students learn 13 different arts used predominantly in Bhutan.
Afternoon drive pass by Memorial Chorten (temple) - This stupa was built in 1974 in the memory of Bhutan's third King, His Late Majesty, and King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, who is popularly regarded as Father of modern Bhutan. The paintings and statues inside the monument provide a deep insight into Buddhist philosophy.
Changangkha Lhakhang- It is a fortress like temple and monastic school perched on a ridge above Thimphu, south of Motithang. The temple was established in 12th century on a site chosen by Lama Phajo Drugom Shigpo, who came from Tibet. The central statue here is Chenrezig in a manifestation with 11 heads. From temple courtyard, there is fascinating view of Thimphu valley.

DAY 4 Thimphu to Punakha (72km/ 03 hour drive approximately)
After breakfast in the morning, check out from the hotel and proceed to Punakha. On the way to Punakha, you will drive past Dochu La. Stop at Dochu La view point which is the first stop after leaving Thimphu.
At just 45 minutes from Thimphu, it offers the first glimpse of the Himalayan range. The road to Punakha branches left and curls its way down to the relatively low lands of the Punakha valley.
On arrival, check in to the hotel and have lunch (on direct payment basis).

Punakha Dzong -Majestically standing on an island between the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, the city's Dzong is one of the most photogenic of all Bhutan's ancient fortresses, and you will see pictures of it hanging in hotels and restaurants throughout the country. The Dzong is joined to the mainland by an arched wooden bridge and contains many precious relics from the days when successive kings reined the kingdom from this valley.
Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple) - Situated on a hillock in the centre of the valley below Metshina is the yellow-roofed Chimi Lhakhang, built in 1499 by the cousin of Lama Drupa Kunley in his honour after he subdued the demoness of the nearby Dochu La with his ‘magic thunderbolt of wisdom’. A wooden effigy of the lama’s thunderbolt is preserved in the Lhakhang and childless women go to the temple to receive blessings from the saint. It’s a pleasant 20 minute walk across fields from the road at Sopsokha to the temple. It crosses an archery ground before making a short climb to the temple.
In the evening, return to your hotel and comfortable overnight stay.
DAY 5 Punakha Sightseeing & Transfer to Paro (134 km/ 04 hour drive approximately)
After the lovely breakfast, proceed for Beautiful Sightseeing of Punakha:
Simtokha Dzong -This Dzong, built in 1627, is the oldest in Bhutan. It now houses the Institute for Language and Culture Studies.
Ta Dzong -It was built to defend Rinpung Dzong during inter-valley wars of the 17th century. Ta Dzong was inaugurated as Bhutan’s National Museum in 1968.
Rinpung Dzong -Built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the first spiritual and temporal ruler of Bhutan, the Dzong houses the monastic body of Paro, the office of the Dzong (district administrative head) and Thrimpon (judge) of Paro district. The approach to the Dzong is through a traditional covered bridge called Nemi Zam.
In the evening transfer to Paro, check-in at your hotel on arrival in Paro and rest overnight after a delicious dinner.
DAY 6 Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast in the hotel go for sight-seeing of Paro town.
Drukgyal Ruin Dzong -Originally a fortress and Buddhist monastery, it is now in ruins and is located in the upper part of Paro valley. The Dzong was built by Tenzin Drukdra in 1649 at the behest of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to commemorate victory over an invasion from Tibet. In the early 1950s Drukgyal Dzong was almost completely destroyed by fire.
Kyichu Lhakhang -Built in 659 by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo. It is believed to be one of the 108 temples built to subdue a demoness residing in the Himalayas and is also one of the oldest Temples in Bhutan.
National Museum of Paro -Housed inside the revamped Ta-Dzong building in Paro, National Museum of Bhutan is a cultural museum that has put on display the antique items gathered from different parts of the country.
Rinpung Dzong -A fortress-monastery that serves both as a civil administrative centre and as a monastic home for a community of monks. Most Dzongs were built in the mid-1600s to protect the inhabited valleys from invasion by Tibet. The Paro Dzong was started in 1644 on the order of Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the unifier of modern day Bhutan. Unlike most of the Dzongs in Bhutan, it survived the massive 1897 earthquake mostly unscathed, though it was damaged by fire in 1907.
In the evening, return to your hotel and rest overnight after a delicious dinner.
Day 7 Departure - Paro
Take away the sweet memories of Bhutan .Transfer to airport for your departure flight. Our tour staff will bid you farewell at the airport.

Payments:

For all the services contracted, certain advance payment should be made to hold the booking, on confirmed basis & the balance amount should be paid before the commencement of the services. Management personnels hold the right to decide upon the amount to be paid as advance payment, based on the nature of the service & the time left for the commencement of the service. Apart from above in some cases like Special Train Journeys, hotels or resorts bookings during the peak season (X-Mas, New Year), full payment is required to be sent in advance.

Mode of Payment: Overseas advance payment can be made through Wire Transfer to our bank.

Cancellation Policy: In the event of cancellation of tour / travel services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reason/s we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows:

  • Flight Ticket cost cancellation change will be as per the airline cancellation policy.
  • 40 days prior to arrival: 25% of the Tour / service cost
  • 15 days prior to arrival: 50% of the Tour / service cost
  • 07 days prior to arrival OR No Show: No Refund

Note:  Written cancellation will accept on all working days, except Sunday, Any cancellation sent on Sunday's will be considered on next working day (Monday).

For the X-mas and new year period from 20 Dec to 05 Jan the payment is non-refundable.

In case you cancel the trip after commencement, refund would be restricted to a limited amount only which too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers/ contractors we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation & missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.

Wildlife Safaris cancellation: All the wildlife safaris booked into any of Indian Wildlife National Park/Sanctuaries are non refundable. Even date change request will be considered as cancellation and no payment will be refunded/ adjusted against it.

Our Liabilities & Limitations: Please note that after the finalization of the Tour/ service Cost, if there are any Hike in entrance fees of monuments / museums, Taxes, fuel cost or guide charges – by Govt of India, the same would be charged as extra.

Our rates are based on the prevailing rates as negotiated by us with the hotels, airlines etc. Hotels and Airlines retain the right to modify the rates without notice. In case of such changes the rates quoted before the modification, can be changed by us according to the modifications by hotels or airlines. All hotel bookings are based on usual check in and check out time of the hotels until unless indicated in the itinerary.

We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the programme or expenses incurred – directly or indirectly – due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, accident, breakdown of machinery or equipments, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, landslides, political closures or any untoward incidents.

We shall not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage to person, property, or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or other services, resulting – directly or indirectly – from any act of GOD, dangers, fire, accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment, breakdown of transport, wars, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics, medical or custom department regulations, defaults, or any other causes beyond our control.

We do not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft, or any other reasons. Visitors are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home country. All baggages & personal property/s at all times are at the client's risk.

 

Passports & Visas (This condition is only valid for International Packages)

To travel to India from overseas countries except for the citizen of Nepal & Bhutan, one needs a 06 months valid passport and a valid Visa. And processing of Passport and Visa are not included in the tour cost. Any loss of any documents including Passport during tour will be clients responsibility.

Early Check-in / Late Check -out

Please note that standard check-in / Checkout time in most hotels is 1500 hrs/12 noon Local time. Therefore cost of early check-in or Late check-out is not included in the tour cost. We can always make a request for early check-in or late checkout if required but we do not guarantee that, that entirely depend upon the policy of the hotel, time of the year and availability of the room.

Extra Uses of our Vehicle

Please note that cost of the vehicle (car / coaches with the driver) does not include extra usage of vehicle like after transfer or after sightseeing until or unless it is mentioned in the itinerary.
